Paris Hilton In/Out of Jail

Why do I even bother posting about Paris Hilton? She generates enough publicity on her own by doing what. Being the child of a hotelier? Being a TV star on "The Simple Life"? Getting drunk and photographed by paparazzi?

Paris ought to simply serve the sentence given her. Even BFF Nicole Ritchie is prepared to serve up to 90 days in jail for her own drunk driving arrest. What matters most is that she learns something from her time behind bars. (And not that she can manipulate every area of public life.) An AP article on Yahoo reported the following:

A few days into her stint at the Twin Towers medical ward, the heiress said in a phone call to Barbara Walters that she had a new outlook.

"I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute," Hilton said during the call, according to an account posted June 11 by Walters on ABC's Web site.

In her own words, Paris Hilton only acted dumb before. Now she can show the world how smart she really is.
