Ex-Klansman gets 60 years

The trial of Edgar Ray Killen for murders in 1964 didn't take long to finish. Forty years after the murders, Killen is finally brought to trial. He is already 80 years old, suffering from breaking both legs in March, and requires an oxygen tank. Therefore, the judge sentenced him to 60 years in a jail that is 70% black. When he's 140, he can be released (perhaps earlier for good behavior). The judge explained, "The law does not recognize a distinction of age." I would give him 2 years max to survive prison conditions. However, I also have to consider that inmates have access to pretty good health care programs.
